The Top 10 Seafood Restaurants in Hilton Head
On the Docks, Hudson’s Seafood House
+184368127721 Hudson Rd., Hilton Head Island, South Carolina 29926, USA
The Hudsons Seafood Restaurant on the Docks is the ultimate Hilton Head dining venue for any occasion, whether you’re eating with family or a significant other.
With a view of Port Royal Sound, you may savor some delectable traditional low country fare. To secure the freshest catches, the restaurant works with fisherman in Charleston, Georgia, and Northern Florida.
Visit this diner after a day of seeing Hilton Head’s local districts, since it is said to be the island’s oldest restaurant, with 50 years of eating experience.
Savor fried oysters and blackened shrimp paired with red rice and freshly cooked broccoli while sipping a fine bottle of wine at this restaurant that serves fresh catch seafood at extremely reasonable prices.
I chose the tuna sandwich. When you can order it grilled, blackened, fried, and so on, you know you’re at a good seafood restaurant.
I liked that they offered more than simply fries as a side. Their hushpuppies, coleslaw, and rice were all excellent. A dozen fresh oysters were also enjoyed, which was well worth the money.
For dessert, we had a superb crab cake and a piece of mud pie while admiring the spectacular views of passing boats on the Intercoastal Canal.
The waiter was amazing; she provided us with a lot of background information about the institution, was very knowledgeable about the food and the many ways it could be served, and kept us pleased throughout.
It was a fantastic experience since she was really educated about the island and what we should visit. I really suggest visiting here for some of the greatest seafood in Hilton Head!
Fishing on Broad Creek
+1843842226711 Simmons Rd, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina 29926, USA
At Fishcamp on Broad Creek, you and your family may unwind while listening to live music performed by local artists and eating wonderful cuisine in Hilton Head! Enjoy Fishcamp’s charm with its tiny interior room and magnificent outdoor sitting area overlooking Broad Creek.
I recommend starting your meal with one of their delicious appetizers, such as calamari and pickles. Dill pickles, crisped calamari, lemon aioli, and spicy tomato sauce make up this appetizer.
Next you may choose from a variety of main courses, such as Seafood Pasta or Roasted Flounder.
Choose a seat outdoors for the most enjoyable experience. There are several heaters to keep you toasty while you enjoy a glass of wine.
For dessert, try a chocolate peanut butter mousse or a piece of creamy key lime pie while circling the oyster roasting pit for a sugar high. Fishcamp is Hilton Head’s excellent dining destination.
Skull Creek Boathouse is located on Skull Creek.
Squire Pope Rd., Hilton Head Island, SC 29926, USA +18436813663397
Even before you look at the menu, you’ll be glad you went to Skull Creek Boathouse, one of the top seafood restaurants in Hilton Head. The old-style river house’s nautically inspired interior design is beautiful and full of original details.
On a good evening, the outdoor terrace and bar are a great place to watch the sunset over Skull Creek.
House-smoked barbecue and freshly prepared seafood dishes are among the menu selections, all cooked with love and presented with delight.
As an appetizer, we had homemade hush puppies with spicy honey butter on the side.
As an entree, we shared the Wild American Shrimp, which came with Savannah red rice and string beans, and I had the blackened local wreckfish, which came with crawfish touffe and Savannah red rice. The wreckfish was delicious, and the sauce was much better!
I like fish but had never had wreckfish before. My server recommended it and promised me I wouldn’t be sorry, and he couldn’t have been more correct!
I hope it’s on the menu again the next time I come, and make sure to check out this restaurant if you’re on Hilton Head Island!
The Absurd Crab
+18436815021104 William Hilton Pkwy, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina 29926, USA
The Crazy Crab in Sea Pines Harbour Town provides a fantastic riverside dining experience with a stunning view of the Lowcountry sunset. Need a few more reasons why is one of the top seafood restaurants in Hilton Head?
Tourists and locals alike believe that the crab legs at this restaurant are among the finest in town.
Youngsters enjoy exploring the on-site playground and seeing the largest saltwater fish tank on Hilton Head. Over the summer, there is even live music.
Work up an appetite by taking a brief walk around the shops or trying to climb to the top of the lighthouse before tucking into a platter of fried flounder, shrimp and grits, and the all-time favorite, Alaskan snow crab legs.
My favorite dish was the fried shrimp, which were delicately breaded and cooked to perfection. My companion had the shrimp and grits and was astounded by how smooth, creamy, and wonderful the grits were.
We ordered the key lime pie for dessert and were blown away by the nautical decor. I can see why people want to come here. We had great meals and a great environment. On Hilton Head, this is a must-try restaurant!
Bayside Black Marlin Grill
Bay Marina, 86 Helmsman Way, Palmetto, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928, United States, +18437854950
The Black Marlin Bayside Restaurant, according to their motto, “offers the Islands Finest Variety of Fresh Seafood, Hand-Cut Steaks, and Refreshing Libations” in a tranquil Key West environment. And who am I to disagree?
The pricing were fair, and the menu was extensive and diverse enough to serve a family of four.
My companion had the Buffalo shrimp, which had just the right amount of spice without being overbearing, and the hush puppies with pimento cheese spread on the side were delicious.
I ordered a cup of fish chowder, which was heaped with fishy morsels. The grilled Mahi Mahi tacos were also excellent.
There was a fantastic environment, and everyone seemed to be having a good time. I like gazing out at the ocean and the marina. Certainly a must-see among Hilton Head’s greatest seafood eateries.
Restaurant at the Old Oyster Factory
+18436816040101 Marshland Rd., Hilton Head Island, South Carolina 29926, USA
The Old Oyster Factory is a dining experience not to be missed while dining in Hilton Head, with stunning vistas, a vast range of traditional and modern seafood meals, and an unrivaled level of service.
This beachfront restaurant has one of the nicest panoramic views of the marshland environment on Hilton Head. It is one of the best seafood restaurants on Hilton Head, providing meals to people of all ages.
As the name says, shellfish is undoubtedly a speciality. Even if its speciality foods aren’t your thing, there’s plenty to appreciate on a menu that includes dishes like Almond Crusted Mahi Mahi, Key Lime Salmon, and Blackened Carolina Catfish.
Fried Green Tomatoes, Key Lime Salmon, Pecan Grouper, Dinner Salad, Low Country Boil, and a half dozen Rockefeller Oysters were among the dishes we ordered.
The oysters were delivered quickly, hot, and fresh. My Low Country Boil was substantial and tasty.
The seafood dinners were outstanding. Deliciously prepared, presented at the proper temperature, attractively garnished with fresh veggies, excellent, and with a large portion of fish and rice.
Save space for their famous desserts, such as creme brulee, cheesecake, and chocolate mousse. We had a great time with them!
LEtoile Verte Charlies
+184378592778 New Orleans Rd, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina 29928, USA
Charlies LEtoile Verte is unrivaled in terms of fresh fish with a French flare. It’s no surprise that it’s one of Hilton Head’s greatest seafood restaurants. The setting is nearly as impressive as the cuisine, which is both high-end and warmly intimate.
Meanwhile, the cuisine is nothing short of spectacular: the menu varies daily based on what’s fresh off the boat that day, but the focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients, superb cooking, and inventive presentation stays continuous.
I began with escargot and ended with local swordfish. The fish was delicious with a light cream tomato sauce, but the Dauphinoise potatoes and wonderfully cooked fresh mixed veggies stole the show.
My guest started with the crab salad with basil lime cream sauce over fresh scallops. Dessert was Charlie’s delectable caramel cake. This incredible meal cannot be properly described in words.
I can’t say enough good things about this location and can’t wait to go back on my next vacation to Hilton Head. It is undeniably Hilton Head’s upscale dining destination.
The Shack at the Sea
+184378524646 Executive Park Road, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928, USA
The Sea Shack is a family-friendly and one of Hilton Head’s greatest seafood restaurants, where guests may choose how their meal is served.
Don’t be scared off by the Sea Shack’s façade; it may resemble a shack, but the food was delicious!
Shrimp, popcorn scallops, frog legs, crab cakes, calamari, oysters, and alligator are among the selections. You read it correctly. The eatery also serves alligators.
We had to wait a little while after putting our order at the window before locating a seat behind one of the tents. When the meal was ready, the team called out names and placed it in take-out containers.
I had no idea what to expect, yet everything was wonderful! Everything was cooked to perfection, and the portions were large.
Everyone at our table tried something new, and there were no complaints, just compliments about the meal. I had the fried grouper, which was extremely tasty, gently fried, and full of flavor. Just visit this location!
On the Water with ELAS
Shelter Cove Ln., Hilton Head Island, SC 29928, USA +184378530301
ELAS On the Water, one of Hilton Head’s premier seafood restaurants, provides steaks and seafood with a Southern touch. It has won a number of Open Table Awards.
Beautiful lake views, a contemporary decor, a sophisticated bar, and a garden terrace all enhance the superb dishes served here.
All of the seafood on the menu is freshly caught, so you can be certain that it will be tasty and fresh.
The cuisine featured mostly seafood, and practically everything was made from scratch. We started with mussels in a fantastic marinara sauce, followed by crab cakes, fresh oysters, and ahi tuna.
The flash-fried flounder was the dish’s star, and it was wonderful. The sweets were also delicious. They had an excellent wine selection and large martinis. Service as you remember it from your youth. It is unquestionably worthwhile to pay a visit!
Restaurant & Wine Bar Alexanders
+1855706431976 Queens Folly Road, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928, USA
Alexanders in Hilton Head offers an exquisite dining experience with seasonally inspired food, freshly caught fish, and many locally produced goods.
Get a well cooked prime rib or a flounder filled with crab and topped with superb sauce and taste while sitting on the lagoon.
Have a crme brulee with a crisp top and a citrus taste added to the custard for dessert, then wash it down with a glass of house wine from the broad selection.
If all you want to do is hang out at the bar, get a grapefruit martini and soak in the casual and friendly environment with the locals. Probably one of Hilton Head’s top seafood restaurants.
