5 Best Cesky Krumlov Restaurants | Where to Eat in Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic

5/5 - (1 vote)

A day excursion to Cesky Krumlov from Prague is something that a lot of people decide to do. I wanted to give myself the opportunity to eat at as many different restaurants in Cesky Krumlov as I could, so I decided to stay for many days.

The eateries in Cesky Krumlov left an impression on me. I was able to locate a wide range of culinary traditions represented, including everything from traditional Czech cuisine to haute cuisine and even contemporary Czech meals.

During your time in Cesky Krumlov, be sure not to skip out on the following opportunities to get more familiar with the city (and hurry up while you still can!):

My 5 Favorite Cesky Krumlov Restaurants

Hospoda Na Louzi

Kajovska 66 // +420 380 711 280

When I walked in and saw that Hospoda Na Louzi was packed with people from the neighborhood, I had a feeling that the place was going to be fantastic.

The ambiance is laid-back and somewhat reminiscent of a local watering hole. The service is very fast but still very casual. Try some traditional fare from the Czech Republic here, along with some excellent local beer.

The roasted pork, the goulash, or the roasted duck leg are three dishes that come highly recommended by me. All three are served with bread dumplings, just like so many other traditional dishes from the Czech Republic.

Traveller’s Hostel and Pub

43 Soukenická // +420 731 564 144

This pub is one of the best places in town for carnivores, and some of the dishes that are absolutely not to be missed include the (huge) pork knuckle and the honey roasted ribs that are fork tender.

You can find grilled trout with herbs, chicken and grilled vegetables, stuffed dumplings, sausages, and dessert if you are not in the mood for massive portions of meat.

The prices are reasonable, the portions are generous, and the beer is served ice cold. Certainly regarded as one of the top restaurants in Cesky Krumlov. What else could you possibly want from life?

Jakub

Kájovská 54 // +420 380 725 912

I was informed on many occasions by residents of Cesky Krumlov that Jakub is the greatest restaurant in the city for exquisite dining. The menu features a wide variety of classic dishes that have been reinterpreted using today’s techniques in the kitchen.

In spite of the fact that they are most well-known for their fish dishes, the restaurant also serves things like grilled pig fillet with chorizo risotto. I highly suggest the beef cheeks that are slow cooked in a red wine demi sauce and served over root veggies.

Check out this wonderfully prepared ahi tuna salad if you’re searching for a lunch that’s a little easier on the stomach.

Hostinec DEPO Gastropub

 Latrán 74 // +420 380 602 442

In Cesky Krumlov, DEPO is home to one of the best beer gardens in the city. I strongly suggest that you come hungry in order to experience their menu. It includes many of the patrons’ all-time favorites.

The goulash, the tartare, and the roasted goose leg with herbed bread dumplings are some of the most popular dishes here.

Visit the garden even if you don’t have time for a meal so that you can at least get a drink. It is one of my favorite places to hang out while I’m in town.

Papa’s Living Restaurant

Latrán 13 // +420 380 711 583

According to the comments of the locals, this establishment is regarded as having some of the city’s finest Italian cuisine. However, they have also advised you against trying their traditional Czech cuisine. Steaks, seafood, and Papa’s world-famous ribs are the restaurant’s areas of expertise.

Papa’s, being an Italian restaurant, of course, serves an extensive variety of pasta dishes. The salmon tagliatelle, the spaghetti carbonara, and the spaghetti with tomato sauce, Spanish ham, basil pesto, and Parmesan cheese are among the most popular dishes.

Inquire about the house special, which is roasted shrimp flambéed in cognac and served with crusty bread. Alternatively, ask about the daily specialties menu, which changes.
