5 Best Must-Try Restaurants In Summerlin, Nevada | Where To Eat In Summerlin, Las Vegas

5/5 - (1 vote)

When we first moved to Las Vegas in 1987, three-dollar steak dinners and all-you-can-eat buffets ruled the restaurant scene. As the city quickly grew and the number of both residents and tourists soared, the dining scene flourished.

In the 1990s, the first celebrity chefs opened restaurants on the Strip, and others followed. They helped redefine the city’s dining scene, and today, with more than 3,000 restaurants, Las Vegas is a foodie’s paradise. But beyond the bright lights and gourmet rooms of Las Vegas Boulevard, there are great food experiences in the “burbs.”

Let me introduce you to the 5 restaurants in Summerlin that are worth a trip to our community west of the Strip.

5 Must Try Restaurants In Summerlin, Las Vegas

Leoné Café

400 S. Rampart Blvd. #10165 // 702-684-5853

The Leoné Café, which can be found in Tivoli Village on the outskirts of Summerlin, brings a taste of the Italian coffee culture to the middle of the desert. In addition to the standard espresso-based beverages, the menu at Leoné’s Coffee features novel takes on these beverages, such as Nutella, Lavender, or Hazelnut Cappuccinos and Cinnamon or Sugar-free Caramel Lattes. The espresso-based beverages are available as well. In addition to that, they provide beverages such as iced coffee, smoothies, and other blended drinks. It’s been recommended to me that the peanut butter smoothie is incredible.

In addition to providing excellent beverages, Leoné also provides customers with pastries prepared in the style of European cuisine and a comprehensive menu from which customers can select anything at any time of the day. When it comes to breakfast options, they provide everything from pastries and crepes to omelets and waffles. The level of excellence found in Leone’s pastries is the one thing that most strongly brings to mind Italy. It can be challenging to locate buttery, flaky, and mouthwatering croissants, but Leoné’s offerings, whether plain or filled, fit the bill perfectly.

There is a wide variety of food available for lunch and dinner, including hot or cold panini, salads, pasta, and pizzas. Although I enjoy their Avocado Toast (avocado, sprouts, and tomato on wheat), I typically go for either their Pear Salad (grilled chicken, lettuce, pears, pecans, dried cherries, bleu cheese) or their Champagne Chicken Berries Salad. Both of these salads feature chicken, pears, and a variety of nuts and dried fruits. Both are breezy and cooling, making them ideal for the heat of the desert. Because they make most things from scratch, you are free to alter the components of your salads and sandwiches however you like.

The Leoné Café has seating available both inside and outside, and the staff is very cordial and helpful. No matter how busy they are, and believe me, they do get busy, staff members will check on your meal and offer refills on coffee, iced tea, and water. They will also make the rounds to ensure that everyone is satisfied. Because of this restaurant’s dedication to providing excellent service to its patrons, Leoné Café is regarded as one of the best in the Summerlin area.

MTO Café

10970 Rosemary Park Drive // 702-982-0770

One of the lunch spots that I frequent frequently is MTO. MTO is a restaurant with a large menu that features a variety of breakfast options (omelets, skillets, pancakes, and waffles, among others), salads, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, and bowls. It is located in Downtown Summerlin. Every dish is prepared fresh to order, the portions are enormous, and many of the meals come with sides, which is something that is not common in Summerlin restaurants.

When I go to MTO, I will typically place an order for one of the two sandwiches. Fries or salad can be substituted for the BLTAE, which is an acronym that stands for bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and egg on brioche. The sandwich typically comes with basil pesto and mayonnaise, but I choose not to have them.

The Hangover Burger is served on a Hawaiian Bun and comes topped with bacon, a fried egg, cheddar cheese, and lettuce. Once more, I choose not to consume the sauce. The addition of the egg, which gives both of these sandwiches a richness that is just right, is what separates them from other sandwiches on the menu.

The Fat Elvis comes highly recommended by one of my other friends. The MTO version of the King’s creation incorporates ingredients such as bacon, bananas, peanut butter, Nutella, and strawberries. My taste was absolutely mouthwatering, but because it was so rich, I would most likely have to split it with another person.

MTO is a potential candidate for one of the best restaurants in Summerlin due to the abundance of seating available both inside and out, as well as the fact that dogs are welcome on the patio.

Juan’s Flaming Fajitas & Cantina

9560 W. Tropicana Blvd. // 702-960-0695

I developed a real appreciation for authentic Mexican cuisine during my time spent in Mexico while I was attending college. I despise the mountainous portions of cheese and beans that have been heated in the microwave that so many restaurants serve. I want food that is recent, piping hot, and flavorful. All of that could be found at Juan’s Flaming Fajitas & Cantina, which takes its name from the proprietor, Juan Vazquez.

However, the fajitas are the most popular dish, and they are grilled right at your table. Your choice of two proteins (pork, steak, chicken, or shrimp), onions and peppers grilled on the comal, guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, and tortillas are included in a serving of fajitas for two people. The portion is so large that even if the two of you eat it together, you will probably have to take some of it with you when you leave.

In addition to fajitas, Juan’s restaurant offers a comprehensive menu that features dishes such as tacos, burritos, chimichangas, and enchiladas. I would recommend Juan’s enchiladas with mole, but only if you are willing to take a risk. If you’re not familiar with it, mole is a sauce that typically includes more than 20 different ingredients, including fruit, peppers, nuts, spices, and even a little bit of chocolate. Mole, when prepared properly, imparts an additional layer of robust flavor that elevates the flavor of whatever it touches. The mole Juan has strikes all of those notes.

Every meal at Juan’s comes with your choice of rice and beans or rice and steamed vegetables.

Happy hour is held every day from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Juan’s. At Juan’s, you can get plain or fruity margaritas in two different sizes, as well as domestic and imported beers, house wines, and well drinks; the cost of all of these beverages is less than $5. In addition, there are ten different food items that can be purchased for less than ten dollars each. Juan’s sampler, which consists of taquitos, nachos, and quesadilla, is an excellent option.

Honey Salt

1031 S. Rampart Blvd. // 702-445-6100

Honey Salt was established by culinary pioneer Elizabeth Blau, who is credited with revolutionizing the dining scene in Las Vegas, and her husband, Chef Kim Canteenwalla. The restaurant serves guests food that is comforting and familiar, giving them a sense of being at home. They try to use ingredients that are sourced regionally and seasonally as much as they can, and the menu includes dishes that come from both of their families.

For lunch, Honey Salt provides customers with a wide variety of tasty options, including sandwiches, pizza, soups, and plates.

The Biloxi Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich is consistently ranked as one of the most sought-after options. The chicken has a moist interior while maintaining a crisp exterior, and it is served on a brioche bun with creamy slaw and homemade dressing. The sandwich is served with a Caesar salad on the side. My go-to order is the Backyard Burger, which comes with salted fries on the side and aged cheddar, tomato jam, and butter pickles on top of the patty.

If you’re looking for something a little lighter, there are many different types of salads available, including salad in a glass, if you can believe it. The Green Goddess Juice is a blend of kale, apples, lemon, cucumber, fennel, celery, and ginger that is blended together until smooth.

Even though the dinner menu has some of the same items as the lunch menu, it has a lot more plates, such as caramelized sea scallops served with cauliflower and a vanilla bean, truffle sauce, or farm house meatloaf served with roasted carrots, mashed potatoes, and tomato jam. Try some of the rich and creamy macaroni and cheese for an appetizer. The flavor of any dish that it is served with benefits from having a more complex profile as a result of the inclusion of Anaheim peppers in the recipe.

Every day from three to six in the evening, Honey Salt hosts a Happy Hour. In the bar, lounge, or patio, guests can order Sips, which include a selection of beers, wines, and cocktails, and Savors, which are small plates that include tastes of some of the restaurant’s main menu items. Make it a point to inquire about the daily specials available during the happy hour. Unquestionably, one of Summerlin’s most highly regarded dining establishments.

Echo & Rig

400 S. Rampart Blvd. // 702-489-3525

Echo & Rig is the brainchild of Chef Sam Marvin and is located in Tivoli Village. It is comprised of a butcher shop and a steakhouse that share the same location. Butchers with a traditional education will prepare all types of meat, from beef and pork to chicken and lamb. In addition to this, they make their own sausage without adding any fillers or flavors or colors that are artificial.

Although sandwiches, salads, and seafood are all available at Echo & Rig, the restaurant’s primary focus is on serving meat dishes. You can choose from the very best cuts of pork, lamb, and chicken, but the steak is the absolute highlight of the menu.

All of Echo & Rig’s steaks, of which there are approximately ten different cuts, are prepared over red oak and come with homemade chips and mushroom Rockefeller as standard side dishes. Even though you have a choice of seven different sauces to go with your steak, the best way to experience the full flavor of the meat is to order it without any sauce at all.

You have the option of ordering baked sweet potatoes or garlic mashed potatoes as a side dish; however, we recommend that you try their roasted broccolini, brussels sprouts with pistachio and fresh lemon, or asparagus and egg instead. And if they have acorn squash, you should have two servings of it. It is that satisfying!

Happy hour is offered daily from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Echo & Rig. Draft beers, premium cocktails, and rotating daily wine specials are all available for purchase at the bar. The food options, which include a steak (two to three ounces) and egg, shrimp cocktail, or hotdog, all cost less than $3, making them an excellent value. In the dining room, you can get bottomless Mimosas for $16 or Bloody Marys for $22, both of which are available during brunch.

Seating is available both inside and outside at Echo & Rig. My preference is to sit on the balcony and take in the atmosphere of Tivoli Village rather than in the dining room, which can have a fairly loud noise level at times.
