7 Greenville Restaurants You Should Try
Biergarten Hans and Franz
Greenville, SC 29615 864-627-82633124 South Highway 14
A taste of Germany at Greenville’s restaurants. We were ecstatic to discover this old-world atmosphere. We felt as though we were visiting family in Germany as we visited Hans & Franz Biergarten.
Chef Juergen Haubach is a native of Germany. This restaurant is housed in one of Greenville’s oldest structures. It was used to manufacture uniforms during the Civil War.
The structure, cuisine, and ambience are all one-of-a-kind. It’s adorned with seasonal and holiday-themed motifs.
The ambiance is tropical, with palm palms and tropical flora providing a relaxing environment.
There is a rotating range of beers on tap as well as European wine.
The majority of their sausages and cold meats are sourced from German butchers. My youngster adores traditional German wurst and bratwurst.
Hungarian Goulash Soup, cooked with paprika, cayenne pepper, bell peppers, spiced up soft bits of meat, and carrots in a tomato base, is a favorite.
This one’s name reminded me of a character from a legendary Christmas TV program, the Burgermeister. This traditional German burger is a half-pound of well seasoned beef and pork.
They offer a handmade Large Pretzel topped with butter and salt and served with spicy mustard. My future wife like spicy mustard and cheese. Obatzda is a kind of Bavarian cheese. It’s a brie, cream cheese, paprika, and spice combination served with a pretzel.
Koenigsberger Klopse is a Prussian delicacy of meatballs in a delightful lemon-caper sauce served over spaetzle, a Swabian egg noodle.
You haven’t really experienced chicken wings until you’ve eaten Hans & Franz Famous Wings. They are marinated for 24 hours before being oven roasted and flash fried. Crispy and tasty with your choice of sauce. The raspberry chipotle sauce and the golden barbecue sauce are our favorites.
Purchase the Meat Lovers’ Paradise. Get the Bavarian Sampler Plate, which includes a grilled pork chop topped with Weisswurst and Bratwurst and drizzled with spicy mustard and curry ketchup. They like to make things interesting around here.
The Wurst is unquestionably the greatest. Let me introduce you to the Hans & Franz Wurst Teller. It’s a sausage lover’s dream. Your dish is piled high with spicy mustard and curry ketchup-drizzled German Bockwurst, Weisswurst, and Bratwurst. It comes with two sides to choose from.
Sauerbraten is a traditional German dish. For many days, the meat is marinated in a combination of vinegar and red wine, water, herbs, spices, and seasonings.
Specials are available on the menu and are limited in quantity. Gazpacho, a delightful summer soup, was recently featured. It’s high in vitamins thanks to the fresh-cut veggies and tomatoes. The Curry Coconut Chicken Soup was another specialty.
When you dine here, you’re certain to leave with a grin on your face because of the amazing cuisine and terrific people. One client remarked the potato salad at Hans & Franz Biergarten reminded her of her mother’s from Munich.
Stop in while you’re in Greenville, SC. Reservations are strongly advised. Probably one of the best restaurants in Greenville.

I discovered Rum Cake French Toast this season. It was a spiced rum cake with pecans in a French toast style, topped with grilled fresh pineapple, fresh berries, and a spiced rum butter sauce. (Please keep in mind that you must be at least 21 years old to purchase this one.) It came with two eggs any manner and your choice of baked bacon or house-made sausage patties. It goes well with a cold brew of Spiked Pecan Praline.
Enjoy the Bourbon Street Pancakes. Three house-made cakes with bananas, pecans, rum butter sauce drizzling, and fresh whipped cream are included.
Shrimp and Grits and Chicken and Waffles are two typical Southern recipes.
Gulf shrimp and andouille are sautéed with red peppers and onions in a spicy low country sauce and served over creamy cheese grits with garlic toast and a lemon.
Crispy fried chicken tenders atop a Belgian waffle drizzled with house-made chipotle honey make up Chicken & Waffles. It’s finger-licking good.
This one piqued my interest. Omelette with lobster and Brie. It’s a cream cheese omelette topped with Brie cheese, champagne butter sauce, sautéed lobster meat, tomatoes, and green onions. Creamy, rich, and delectable.
If you prefer a sandwich, this is a popular choice. The Benedict Burger is a brioche sandwich with a hand-pressed beef patty, grilled ham, an over-medium fried egg, hollandaise, and green onions.
This is what my son and daughter-in-law had to say about Another Broken Egg Caf in Greenville, SC. This was our first visit. The service, food, environment, and treatment were all excellent. The coffee was delicious and smooth. The cups were very nice. Our server and administrators approached us to ensure that everything was in order. Water with Smoke
Greenville, SC 29601, 864-232-90911 Augusta Street, Suite 202
Smoke on the Water was the only song I learnt to play on the guitar when I was a little child. The concept for Greenville, South Carolina’s Smoke on the Water restaurant developed in 2004.
Chicken Lea, Hurdle Lea, and Mike Shuler collaborated to establish a very unusual Southern restaurant among Greenville Restaurants. They wanted to establish a warm and friendly atmosphere that was as comfortable as the cuisine they served, but in a more sophisticated and pleasant setting. They wanted every guest’s dining experience to be one to remember, from the copper menus to the private label wines by Walter Schug.
My daughter-in-law is an artist, and the artwork on these walls pays homage to some of history’s finest musicians. The works of Brian Olsen are shown here.
Let’s make a feast on your plate now that you’ve feasted your eyes on the art and gotten a sense of the ambience.
This raucous southern bar is the real thing. Hand-rubbed in secret spices and slow-cooked all night, a Boston butt yields melt-in-your-mouth Pulled Pork.
Popular items include baby back ribs and combination meals.
Brunswick Stew may be found in the soup area. Maybe that one is for you. It’s a hearty stew of chicken, pig, and beef in a smoky whole-meat stock, thick with braised potatoes, onions, corn, lima beans, and tomatoes.
This salad is a fiery alternative. The Smoked Turkey Salad has sliced smoked turkey, mandarin oranges, sliced strawberries, sun-dried cranberries, red onion, and feta cheese with a honey and key lime vinaigrette.
My grandfather always maintained that a dinner isn’t complete until it includes dessert. Jack Daniels Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie is the trademark dessert. Oh my! They put their own spin on a Southern classic. It’s best served hot with vanilla ice cream.
The Fried Bourbon Bread Pudding is a favorite among guests. Deep-fried gourmet bread pudding wrapped with graham cracker crumbs. It’s topped with a crisp bourbon sauce and served with vanilla ice cream.
Here’s what some diners had to say about their meals.
I had heard great things about this place and wanted to give it a try. The cornbread and mac and cheese are both delicious.
We travelled 7 hours for a college visit and this lunch was suggested by the coaches. That was by far the finest spot I’d ever eaten pulled pork. My family and I would travel 7 hours to dine here again.
My family and I believe that Smoke on the Water in Greenville SC is an unforgettable experience and one of the greatest Greenville restaurants.
