What was formerly mostly residential property is now a hotbed for intriguing pizza joints north of Milwaukee.

Mequon Pizza Company is a wonderful family-owned company that serves some of the tastiest pizza in town. Usually, one of the proprietors works behind the bar. The service is kind, and the meal is great comfort food.

When you order meals and beverages at the bar, there isn’t a lot of waitstaff. There are gluten-free options available. The kitchen is constantly crowded, but it goes swiftly.

This is one of the top pizza and beer places in the region; nestled between Thiensville and Mequon, this house-like restaurant has a broad horseshoe bar in one enormous room.

If you’re visiting for the first time, you’ll notice there are no waiters; instead, you’ll order at the bar. This might cause service delays at busy hours, but the personnel is kind and flexible.

MPC’s thin-crust pizzas are to die for, and although I adore a nice Chicago deep-dish pizza, MPC’s deep dish is lacking. If you’re not in the mood for their fantastic wonton-wrapped mozzarella sticks, the side salad is a terrific way to start.

Their thin crust pizza is fantastic. When the sauce is added after the toppings, there does not seem to be much cheese. Popular items include the homemade chips with cheese sauce and the meat lasagne. If you don’t complete your dinner, they will bring it to you!

It’s a well-known local pizza joint for when you want a good beer with your dinner; their other menu items are more than adequate; I’ve yet to have a sandwich that I didn’t like.

Lastly, the beer selection is without a doubt among the finest in the region. If you can’t find a beer or a style that you appreciate, you probably don’t like beer. Pizza Leonardos

The only and greatest New York City pizza on the North Shore. Just fold it over and stuff it! Leonardo, tucked away off Mequon Road, understands how to represent the 212. These pies are hand-tossed and topped with fresh ingredients that will make your mouth wet.

This is a favorite of one of my friends, and he introduced me to it when we visited this weekend. It’s easy to see why he loves about this pizza.

The New York-style crust is thin but not soggy, with a pillowy edge that is just the right amount of untopped edge for gripping and folding. There is plenty of cheese, and the toppings are copious but not overpowering.

We chose sausage and olives, as well as a vegetable version with olives, green peppers, mushrooms, and onions. Being a vegetarian pizza fan, I have to admit this was one of my favorites. When the vegetables were finely chopped, the pizza did not get watery. The sausage was also well seasoned. I suggest stopping by on your next tour! At Mequon, you may sample Brooklyn-style pizza.

Mr. Zarletti Mequon

Everything about my time at Zarlettis was lovely, from the kind service to the delectable meal.

It’s a great combination of formal and casual, enabling you to wear anything from jeans to a more formal outfit. Also, there are many sitting alternatives to suit your mood.

If you have a preference, do not be hesitant to inquire where you would want to seat in the restaurant. The whole staff I met was quite nice.

To begin with, all of the pasta, including the ravioli, is made in-house. Based on my personal experience, I can attest to the high quality of the pappardelle and ravioli. Their pizza is both genuine and excellent!

If you’re new to Zarletti and like pasta, I heartily suggest the Pappardelle Bolognese, a slow-cooked stew of beef, pig, and veal ragu. No, it’s not the Ragu sauce your mother used to make. Ragu is an Italian meat sauce with a tomato basis.

The Apple Gorgonzola Pizza is my personal favorite on the menu. It features blue cheese crumbles, nuts, and the ideal tart flavor from the hot, green, sliced apples. Delicious! The greatest aspect is that it will fill you full but will not leave you feeling like a million bucks.

A nice spot to go with a close friend or if you want to do something romantic but not go overboard for a second date!

One thing I enjoy about Zarletti is that salads can be shared. For a gathering of three, they served the salad family-style using a big serving spoon. They brought two smaller salads. Excellent work! Try it out. You’ll receive some of Mequon’s greatest pizza.

The Chancery Restaurant and Pub

The environment is welcoming and pleasant. Our waiter was kind, and the service was prompt. There were several menu selections available, and everyone at our table agreed that the meal was great. Meaty alternatives are provided in addition to vegetarian and vegan options. Suitable for all diets and lifestyles.

This restaurant offers a nice ambience and delicious meals. Wood-fired pizza, salads, burgers, and sandwiches are all available. When we stepped out of the vehicle, I could smell the hardwood smoke.

I bought the $5 personal pizza from the football specials, expecting nothing extraordinary. Italian sausage and red onion were my toppings. The pizza was delicious!

The sausage was flavorful, the cheese was of high quality, and the crust seemed to be handmade (hand-tossed) and covered with cornmeal before baking in their wood oven.

It’s ideal for a casual business lunch or a get-together with friends. Check the signs for live music on select evenings as well. I can’t wait to return! And, as usual, let me know in the comments whether you believe this is Mequon’s greatest pizza!

Downtown Pizza Company

We came here for the first time and were really taken aback. It offers the sense of a small, antique pizza parlor, with an ice cream counter filled with a variety of Cedar Crest ice flavors.

From their speciality menu, we ordered the garlic bread, a deep-dish pizza with most of the ingredients of a supreme, and a little ten-inch spinach, artichoke, and chicken pizza on a cauliflower crust.

I’d never had a pizza with a cauliflower crust before, and it was fantastic! It has a powerful taste that comes out in waves and matches the artichoke, chicken, and spinach well, and the sauce adds harmony to the rest of the pizza’s symphony.

The garlic bread arrived in two massive slices with a delightfully browned cheese and garlic topping, and the butter soaked into the bread so flawlessly that it tasted like the whole piece was infused with garlic and cheese!

Now for the big event: deep-dish pizza. The crust was unmistakably deep-dish, but it wasn’t so bready that it masked the toppings, and it had some chewiness that served as a great introduction to the pizza.

The toppings and sauce extended all the way to the edge of the pizza, hinting to a terrific experience! There were no bare patches, thin regions, or flat areas. With each mouthful, you could taste every single topping on the pizza.
