The 5 Best Pizza Places in Bar Harbor
Rosalies Pizza Company
+1207288566646 Cottage St., Bar Harbor, Maine 04609, USA
Since 1981, this family-run, seasonal company has made 7, 14, 17, and 19 pies from scratch, available for take-out, dine-in, build-your-own, thin crust, or double dough. There are so many interesting options!
Not only is it the greatest pizza in Bar Harbor, but it’s also some of the finest pizza I’ve ever tasted. People were waiting for their meal every time we passed. Our order arrived around 30 minutes after we phoned.
The calzone was bland and tasted more like a Stromboli without the ricotta. The pizza was fantastic. The cheese, crust, and seasoning are all great.
One of their five speciality pies is a must-try. Think of Rosies Choice, which has spinach, mushrooms, garlic, and olive oil. Divine.
Pats Pizza Company
+120728851176 Pleasant St., Bar Harbor, Maine 04609, USA
Pats has been serving their legendary pies in its 15 Maine locations since 1931, creating a real institution for generations of Maine pizza lovers.
Many customers choose to eat their pies on-site since it has a nice, tavern-style environment and a full bar, especially during the long winter months when a little laughter and fellowship is necessary.
Their pies come in 9 and 14-inch sizes, and several of their speciality pizzas are also available in calzone form. Their Taco Pizza, which layers all of your favorite taco ingredients onto a fresh pizza dough, is a tremendous smash. It was tasty and not at all greasy, which I loved.
Pats is also known for providing customers the option of having their pizza cooked light, crispy, or well done. Genius!
In addition, the prices are affordable. I will, without a doubt, return. This restaurant is highly recommended; it is well worth the walk or drive.
Pizzeria West Eden
+120780193351319 ME-102, Bar Harbor, Maine 04609, USA
This year-round, take-out-only neighborhood favorite offers nine distinct gourmet pizzas as well as a build-your-own alternative. Salads, hot and cold sandwiches, and a rotating selection of homemade whoopie pies are all available at West Eden.
I’m so delighted I came into this hidden treasure of a family-owned and run pizza business on MDI’s quiet side! Their pizza includes a great dough, sauce, and toppings of excellent quality. With nine different kinds of meat, 10 different veggies, anchovies, and everything you need to create just about any gourmet pizza you can think of, there’s something for everyone. There’s also a gluten-free crust and tomato sauce variations like pesto or white sauce.
In addition to pizza, they provide a selection of hot and cold sandwiches, as well as three salads. Again, pricing in this location are delightfully modest and will not break the bank.
Cinerama Pizza Reel
+1207288382833 Kennebec Pl., Bar Harbor, Maine 04609, USA
Whoever conceived of combining a restaurant with a cinema deserves a prize, and Reel Pizza goes it a step further with their great range of speciality pizzas, all of which are available all year (take-out only in the off-season).
I noticed that A Star Is Born was playing at a nearby theater and decided to go. The film is wonderful, and Lady Gaga gives an outstanding performance, but the highlight of the evening was this little movie theater. A ticket for $7 was a value, and the meal prices were fair, with above-average pizza.
Couches and vintage TV trays may be seen in the first few rows of the theatre. We enjoyed it so much that we returned the following night to watch a different film (The Dawn Wall). It is without a doubt a must-see while in Bar Harbor.
Reel Pizza’s pizza is as wonderful inside and out, and they provide artisan beer and wine by the glass. Their menu includes soups, salads, nachos, and side dishes, but their specialty is pizza.
The Manchurian Candidate (pie names are inspired by movies) is my favorite, with peanut sauce, mozzarella, carrots, scallions, and your choice of chicken or tofu. If you’re searching for a themed restaurant that serves amazing pizza in Bar Harbor, this is the place to go.
Bar Harbor Blazing Pizza
+12078012755198 Main St., Bar Harbor, Maine 04609, USA
Another year-round option is Blaze, which serves an eclectic menu of upgraded pub grub, including its renowned wood-fired pizzas.
My favorite pie is the Blaze BBQ pie, which includes Blaze BBQ sauce, Blaze Meat Company cheddar wurst, pickled jalapeƱo, red onion, Pineland Farms smoked cheddar, and sriracha aioli. Pair it with a Blazing Beet salad and a local microbrew, and you’ve got a winning combination.
Our bartenders were kind and excited about their craft beers. We didn’t receive a bad suggestion. If you haven’t already, try the peanut butter or smores stouts.
I had a terrific day getting away from Bar Harbor’s congested streets. A little patio tavern with delicious food and drink, as well as great company!
