Beacon, New York is roughly a two-hour trip from Manhattan. When I first visited Beacon, I was taken away by how pleasant and quaint the town was, not to mention how delicious the cuisine was.
This town features a wealth of cafes and restaurants for all types of foodies, whether you want to sample some of Beacons best foods, try some innovative hot dogs, or simply want some standard diner cuisine.
If you find yourself in New York, I highly suggest spending a day or weekend in Beacon. The culinary alternatives are just too amazing to pass up.

Kitchen Sink is committed to sourcing locally while exploring global cuisines. This restaurant is notable for its changing menu, which changes every four weeks.
You may book two experiences: Chefs Tasting and 3-Course Tasting.
The Chefs Tasting menu changes monthly and consists of five to six courses. Tomato Gazpacho, Tomato Toast, Tomato and Melon, and Mini Tomato BLT were on the most recent Chefs Tasting menu. Ravioli, crunchy stuffed peppers, and grilled scallops are also available. The cost of this dinner is $85 per person, which includes gratuity.
The 3-course Tasting Menu is a shortened version of the Chef’s Tasting Menu and is only offered on Saturdays at 5:30pm. This menu costs $50 including gratuity.
Please keep in mind that this is a community eating place, so don’t expect to be seated exclusively with your group.
This eatery is more appropriate for grownups. Kitchen Sink bills itself as an adult-only night out. Children under the age of twelve are not authorized.

When I go out to eat, I always choose typical appetizers like chicken tenders or mozzarella sticks.
If this describes you, Yankee Clipper Restaurant has you covered. If you’re eating with a bigger group, the Combination Snack Plate, which includes buffalo wings, potato skins, mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, and onion rings, is a wonderful choice.
If you’re looking for something more substantial, consider one of the burgers. Yankee Clipper burgers are all half-pounders served with creamy coleslaw and a dill pickle.
Diners, in my view, aren’t complete without milkshakes, and this one offers lots to pick from, including the Oreo Milkshake and the Choco Peanut Butter Milkshake.

Maxs Wings are another terrific alternative, consisting of crispy and tender chicken wings tossed in your choice of sauce: Hot, Mild, Pineapple BBQ, Teriyaki, or a combination of Hot and Teriyaki to make them Main Street Style.
Salads abound, with the Southwest Cobb Salad and The Treasure of the Steak Madre being two standouts. Our Famous Marinated Flank Steak Over Mixed Greens with Cucumbers, Red and Green Cabbage, Carrots, Peanuts, and Cilantro in a Miso Vinaigrette is the name of the latter salad.
Max’s Mains include The Flat Iron District, which consists of a peppercorn coated pan seared flat iron steak with a mushroom au poivre sauce. Ginger Marinated Portabella Mushrooms and Asian-style veggies are served over sesame rice in the Richie Havens Rice Bowl.
It would be a missed opportunity if I did not mention some of their drink offerings, such as the Maxtini, which is made with Absolut Citron, triple Sec, cranberry, grapefruit, and lime juices, and the Blue Motorcycle, which is made with Bacardi Light, Blue Curacao, Our citrus juices, and a splash of 7 Up.
