D & R Depot is located just over the train tracks. This LeRoy diner has no wrong side of the tracks.

Get aboard for a trip to the D&R Depot. This historic railway station has been converted into a restaurant that offers a delectable share of hospitality as well as a choice of high-quality meals. Nancy Nickerson and her boyfriend Sean Valdez will welcome you like family.

Folks travel from all around to try the house speciality handmade pot pies.

The Conductors Special French onion soup is a favorite. Little scissors are provided to cut the stringy, melty cheese. A basket of homemade bread and muffins will melt in your mouth.

Nancy and Sean, who handle all culinary and catering operations, stay on top of dietary demands including gluten-free and sugar-free selections, but there are plenty of old-time favorites as well.

Every year during the holidays, there is a counting contest with snowflakes, reindeer, nutcrackers, or angels artfully positioned about the eating area. The person who gets closest to the total number receives a reward, which is usually cash.

Farmers Creekside Tavern & Inn first opened its doors in 1820. A devastating fire destroyed the structure in 2004. It was repaired and brought back to life by Bill Farmer.

Lucy may be found in the kitchen. Lucy is the name of a French-top stove they bought from a Philadelphia French restaurant. She needed some love, much like Lucy in I Love Lucy.

apish! is one of the newest restaurant additions to the town of LeRoy, New York, and is housed in a refurbished structure that was established in 1889 as the Bank of Leroy.

Following a few incarnations as different restaurants, the structure fell into neglect until being renovated as a must-try restaurant in LeRoy.

As a child growing up in Altavilla Milicia, a little town approximately 40 kilometers east of Palermo, Sicily, the phrase CAPISH! was extremely frequent to me when my mother would continually reprimand me for misbehaving. Do you comprehend what I’m saying? I discovered that LeRoy and the surrounding region have a sizable Italian community and are historically significant.

Capish! Pizza-Ristorante was developed after many months of refurbishment. The wall had to be removed to allow the oven to be installed, but it has now been repaired and converted into their fantasy of a bit of Italy in LeRoy.

Frascati’s nephew is Head Chef Gondola. His parents relocated to Italy when he was three years old; he grew up in Sicily and attended culinary school. Following graduation, his uncle urged him to return to the United States to work as a chef at his restaurant.

Beef, chicken, veal, seafood, and fish dishes are added to the menu. A popular Friday fish fry is a Western New York tradition.

Exit the town and take Route 5 to the Red Osier Landmark Restaurant, which is situated at 6492 East Main Street. Despite the address places Red Osier in Stafford, it is considered a part of LeRoy.

Every time of year is enjoyable here, but the Wonderland of Lights in December is particularly enjoyable. In 2019, 2.5 million lights were used to illuminate the property both inside and out.

Every year, there is a different theme. The theme for 2019 is a salute to the Buffalo Bills, the local football team. According to co-owners Tim Adams and Steve Foster, this topic piqued the interest of the Buffalo Bills and Good Morning America on Twitter and social media.

What’s the big deal? This restaurant is famous for its prime rib, which is sliced to order at the table. That is a first-rate experience. The meat is superbly aged and marbled, and the quality and craftsmanship are unrivaled.

You won’t go hungry at this Local restaurant, with cuts ranging from the Petite at ten ounces to the Large at five pounds (!).

Any combination of tender prime rib, filet mignon, or lobster tail is a popular signature supper. The entree begins and concludes with a lot more. Sweet buns and breads are offered with soup or salad. The spinach salad with warm bacon dressing is one of my favorites.

End your visit in style as you enjoy the environment and superb service. Dessert may be cakes or pies, but why not try something spectacular? The Amazing Dessert consists of French vanilla ice cream atop a brownie with hot fudge and fresh whipped cream on top.

If you want a unique dessert, get the Bananas Foster Flamb for Two, a New Orleans favorite since 1952. It will flash before your eyes as it is produced tableside with flambed bananas on top of French vanilla ice cream, drizzled with caramel cognac sauce, and topped with whipped cream.
