The Top 8 Restaurants in Ubud, Bali

Blanco with Mandif

Blanco par Mandif is on par with any Michelin-starred restaurant I’ve ever visited. The modest restaurant only seats 10 people each sitting, so you’ll need to make a reservation. The cuisine focuses on Indonesian tastes and uses only the freshest local products.

We chose the nine-course meal with wine pairings. From our seats, which all faced the kitchen, it was exciting to witness the meals come to life in front of us. The mixologist is also a specialist. I would never have thought to blend some of the more complex tastes in the manner he did, yet every match succeeded.

A fantastic idea is worthless unless it is carried forward by talented cooks. Blanco par Mandifs’ cooks are all professionals. Exceptional precision was used in the delicate plating. The meals are works of beauty, and you marvel how something so delicate and beautifully presented can hold so much taste.

We attempted to reconsider our favorite course following course, but it was too tough. Each meal was just fantastic.

Blanco par Mandif also provides excellent service. Our servers were always close by but never bothersome. They would bring plates with a brief description of each meal. When the staff learned we were celebrating a friend’s birthday, they went above and beyond to make the night genuinely unforgettable.

The evening was obviously a luxury in terms of good dining, but it was well worth it. Not only is it one of the greatest meals I’ve ever eaten, but it’s also one of the most unforgettable. Definitely one of Ubud’s greatest restaurants.

Vespa Cafeteria

Café Vespa is situated outside of Ubud’s main area, yet it is definitely worth the trip. This was one of the few spots I returned to throughout my time in Ubud.

The extensive menu is dominated by healthier options, however there are various burger and fish and chip options to fulfill your less healthy needs.

Cantina

Of course, I would seek out Mexican cuisine while in Ubud. Cantina features a modest yet fantastic cuisine. All of the ingredients are fresh, and the tortillas are handmade, which is unusual in much of Asia. I also liked the idea of an open kitchen. We were able to not only see the chef cook our lunch, but also speak with him as he put the meals together.

Italian on Black Beach

I was surprised to enjoy a fantastic Italian meal in Ubud. This gnocchi meal was simple yet full of flavor. Black Beach emphasizes a light cooking style and utilizes fresh, organic products. Moreover, Black Beach creates its own pizza dough in-house every day.

Sayan Residence

Fusion of Latin American cultures. That was my first exposure to these taste combinations, and I can’t wait to explore more. The sashimi tacos with wasabi were my particular favorite. The Sayan House has a Japanese theme.

I typically say I’m not a dessert person, but my buddy loved the churros they provided at the conclusion of our dinner. These were served hot on a bed of ice cream, with powdered sugar on top.

I also cant omit to highlight the crazy view you receive with your supper at The Sayan House. The breathtaking panorama overlooks the Sayan Gorge. Come for sunset drinks and stay for supper, as we did.

Chris Salans Spiceby

Ilearned Spice was also included in my Where to Eat in Sanur guide, so when they opened a second location in Ubud, I knew I had to go. This location has a less formal, more contemporary café vibe, but the cuisine is equally as good as the previous.

The idea, which combines French culinary skills with fresh, locally produced ingredients, has proven popular in Bali. The organization is about to add a third site.

Ibu Oka Babi Guling

Don’t be fooled by how easy this platter of food seems; appearances may be misleading. Babi guling is a traditional local suckling pig dish. This restaurant became renowned when Anthony Bourdain visited and pronounced it to be the greatest pig he had ever eaten. Mr. Bourdain has since made Lechon his favorite. Making Babi one of Ubud’s greatest eateries.

Porchetta will always hold a special place in my heart, but babi guling is as delectable. This restaurant is one of my favorites since they provide excellent beef with roasted skin, sausage, rice, and veggies. Despite the fact that this restaurant is often busy with visitors because to its worldwide fame, locals dine here as well.

Kafe

Jl. Hanoman 44b

Kafe was my first visit when I arrived in Ubud, and with good reason: it was highly praised by locals. The menu at Kafes is extensive and outstanding, with many of your favorite foods modified somewhat healthier. The restaurant takes pleasure in utilizing locally grown and chemical-free vegetables from Bali and offers a broad variety of vegetarian and vegan, raw, gluten-free, macrobiotic, and global cuisine meals.

The restaurant offers a tropical café vibe and is located in the heart of Ubud. Bring a book and relax about as you make your way through the menu, or bring your laptop and catch up on work.
